Meet the Team - Hygienists & Nurses

Jo Ericson
Jo Ericson RDH FAETC
Jo was born in Leamington Spa. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Birmingham University in 1998 and has worked in general practice and orthodontic practices. Jo is a tutor hygienist at Birmingham Dental Hospital and is currently studying towards a Masters in Medical Education at Warwick University. In her free time Jo is a very keen horse-rider and competes frequently at eventing. Jo also loves to ski and snowboarding.

Laura Miles RDH
Laura has been at Clarendon House Dental Centre since March 2003. Laura gained her Certificate in Dental Nursing in 2000 and went on to train as a Hygienist qualifying in 2002 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Birmingham University. She has a BTEC in Oral Health Promotion (2002) and a Certificate in Natural Sciences from the Open University (2003). Laura enjoys working with all different kinds of people and loves working with children. She is currently studying towards a Degree in Acupuncture at The College of Traditional Acupuncture in Warwick. In her limited spare time she enjoys training in Aikido, eating out and socialising with friends.

Julie Alford RDH
Julie was born in Solihull and initially trained as a Dental Nurse before going onto study Dental Hygiene at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester where she qualified in 1997. Julie continues with her studies and is currently working towards becoming an Orthodontic Therapist. In her spare time Julie loves skiing, mountain biking and ballroom dancing.

Julie obtained her dental hygienist qualification from Birmingham University in 1984. She has worked in Leamington and the surrounding area since gaining her qualification, taking a short break when her daughter was born. Julie enjoys tennis, skiing and travelling.

Sophie Shotton RDH
Sophie qualified as a dental hygienist in 2007 from Cardiff University Dental Hospital. Sophie has a keen interest in implantology and likes to keep up-to-date with new techniques within dentistry.

Katie White RDH BSC
Katie qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist from the University of Birmingham in 2008 with a BSc degree. At university she won awards for Oral Health Promotion and for her research project which look at the link between gum disease and heart disease. Since leaving university Katie has gained experience working with anxious patients and oncology patients.
Outside of work Katie has a keen interest for running and generally keeping fit. She also enjoys creative hobbies, such as crafts and card making.
